This Policy provides Insurance protection linked to engineering and industrial projects and in terms of Contractors All Risks Insurance Policy, which covers insurance protection for projects during the construction period, and also can expand its coverage to include the maintenance period, as it protects the contractors and entrepreneurs toward civil liability that might arise against them by the third party of bodily injury or physical damage to the property belonging to others.
The main lines for such policies are:
Contractors All Risks insurance policy
This type of insurance is a standard insurance policy that provides
coverage for property damage and third-party injury or damage claims, the two primary types of risks on construction projects or third parties, including subcontractors may also become injured while working at the construction site.
Erection All Risk Policy (EAR)
This Insurance type is designed to cover the risk of loss arising out of the erection and installation of machinery plant and steel structures, including physical damage to the contract works, equipment, and machinery, and liability for the third-party bodily injury (BI) or property damage (PD) arising out of these operations.
Contractor Plant & Machinery Policy (CPM)
This is an insurance of contractor’s plant and machinery that is done on an annual basis. It covers unforeseen and sudden physical loss of or damage to the insured items, necessitating their repair or replacement.
Contractors Third Party Liability Policy (CTPL)
This insurance type provides indemnity for legal liability following the third party property damage or the third party bodily injury arising from insured activities. Cover can typically be extended to include the interests of the various parties to a construction contract. This could include amongst others the main contractor, the owner/developer, and lenders.
